Stainless steel vacuum gloveboxes VBOX-SS

Manufactured and designed in RussiaVBOX-SS gloveboxes are standardized high-quality vacuum gloveboxes made of stainless steel. They are designed for use in research and production. VBOX-SS gloveboxes are designed and manufactured in Russia by Vilitek Ltd. The boxes are made of first-class materials and high quality components. They come with a number of features and technical details that make them clearly stand out among their counterparts from other producers. The VILITEK VBOX-SS model series comprises 10 standard models. There are two different models in VILITEK-SS series: gloveboxes, the pass box and main chamber are designed to withstand vacuum conditions and gloveboxes, which only pass box is able to be vacuumed. Vacuuming and filling of the box with high purity gas from cylinders enable to purify the gaseous medium in the box without using expensive gas cleaning equipment. The standard VBOX-SS boxes are equipped with latex gloves. The boxes can also come with butyl rubber gloves, polyurethane-coated gloves, or gloves for handling radioactive and highly corrosive materials to make an optimal decision of assigned task. In standard set VBOX-SS gloveboxes going with 156 mm glove ports, but optionally they can be increased to 186 or 220 mm.

Code

Description

PC

The pressure control system in the box ensures continuous maintenance of a predetermined pressure in the box (+/- 20 mbar). The system includes a pressure regulator with a sensor and two solenoid valves. If the glovebox is to be used for protection against moisture or oxygen, the pressure control system will constantly maintain slightly excess pressure in the box. If the box is to be used for protection of the operator working with hazardous substances, the system maintains lower pressure in the box, thus ensuring maximum safety for the operator against leakage in the system. To work with low pressure, the box should be connected to a vacuum pump or central vacuum system. For excess pressure, the box is usually connected to a gas cylinder with a pressing reducing valve or gas generator.

VP

Chemically resistant diaphragm vacuum pump. The pump is needed for pumping gas from the lock (when loading objects into the glovebox), for pumping the main chamber of the box and for maintaining vacuum during operation. It can maintain a vacuum of up to 2 mm Hg. This pump is useful when the glovebox is used for handling evaporating solvents, acids and alkalis.

VPR

Rotary vane vacuum pump. The pump is needed for pumping gas from the lock (when loading objects into the glovebox), for pumping the main chamber of the box and for maintaining vacuum during operation. It can maintain a vacuum of up to 0.005 mm Hg. This pump is recommended for use when it is critically important to have highly-pure gas in the box.

SO

Oxygen concentration sensor (gas analyzer). When ordering, oxygen concentration measuring range is specified. VILITEK gloveboxes use high-precision electrochemical gas sensors with minimum response time to measure oxygen concentration. Another feature of the oxygen gas analyzers is the simplicity, replacement and low cost of the measuring element.

SH

Water vapor concentration sensor. It measures the partial pressure of water vapor in the working space of the glovebox.

RH

Water vapor trapping system with a molecular sieve. The molecular sieve can be regenerated by heating, for example, in a laboratory furnace.

RO

Oxygen-free working gas system with a platinum catalyst. The system is available only when ordering it together with a water vapor trapping system (RH). It removes oxygen from the working gas. The catalyst is not consumed in the process of operation. As the efficiency decreases with time (the catalyst usually works for at least several years), it may be replaced or regenerated.

D

Removable end cap. This option is useful for loading and unloading bulky objects. With this option, the glovebox is designed with a removable end cap, covering the entire wall of the chamber. The cap is secured with stainless steel screws.

LC

Large air lock chamber. The glovebox can be equipped with a large air lock chamber to meet the customer's specifications. This option is useful when handling bulky objects in the box. Required dimensions of the lock chamber are clarified when ordering.

HEPA

HEPA-filtered gas circulation system. The system is used for objects that are sensitive to ingress of dust. HEPA filtration can also be used for gas sterilization in the box as the filters used in VILITEK gloveboxes also trap microorganisms.

L

LED lighting in the main chamber.

BASE

Stand for sitting work. Standardly glove box is installed on the lab table, this stand replaces the lab table. Made of structural steel, powder-coated.
